Aunt Kitty - Her last 10 years - 87 to 97 |
|
The older I get, the more the aging process fascinates me. My husband's Aunt Kitty has been a favorite subject of mine since I first met her when she was 80 years old. During the last 10 years of her life, she had gone from a feisty, active and independent person ... who was driving a car and volunteering her time into her 90's ... to a sweet, quiet, totally dependent person who lived completely in the moment because her memory was gone. She accomplished all this with total acceptance and grace. This collection of paintings is a memorial to a woman I loved and respected. It also dramatically documents the physical changes that happen in old age. Because of this, the exhibit is a valuable and emotionally impactful experience to people of all ages. |
